Liying Gu
Director, Economic Affairs and Research
In her role as Director,
Economic Affairs and Research, Liying Gu
directs the airport industry's economic affairs and research programs. Her many
responsibilities include handling the ACI-NA Capital Needs Study and
Benchmarking Program, as well as other cross-industry measurement initiatives
that provide statistical resources to a variety of industry stakeholders. She
also manages critical policy issues related to airport revenue and performance.
She is a member of three oversight panels for the Transportation Research Board
(TRB) Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP).
Before joining ACI-NA in 2003, Gu worked for a smart card consulting firm as a consultant and research analyst. She has more than seven years of management experience organizing aviation-related events, including the first international aviation trade show with flying display held in China; 10 high-level aviation symposiums in mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Paris; and 10 legs of FAI World Grand Prix of Aviation in China.
A native of China, Gu has an MBA in aviation, with distinction, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a graduate certificate in Survey Design and Data Analysis from the George Washington University, and holds a bachelor's degree in English from Beijing Foreign Studies University. She is also expecting a Master of Science in Finance from the Carey Business School of the Johns Hopkins University in spring 2008.
