Commissioners’ Committee Scholarship

Since October 1993, the ACI-NA Commissioners’ Committee has supported students of high academic standards who are working toward a career in airport management or airport administration through the ACI-NA Commissioners’ Scholarship Fund. View Scholarship Information and Application (PDF file).

Commissioners’ Legislative Influence

Airport Board Members and Commissioners will continue to play a vital role in both legislative and political advocacy with Senators and House members. Commissioners are elected and/or appointed locally and are leaders in their communities. They also have strong ties to key decision makers. These relationships have proven invaluable in pressing the airport legislative agenda in Washington. The committee continues to intensify commissioner involvement in ACI-NA's legislative efforts. It focuses on legislative priorities such as aviation security, airport capacity and enhancing airport funding.

Commissioners’ Leadership Reception

In conjunction with the Spring Washington Conference, the Committee sponsors the Congressional Reception that is held annually in Washington, D.C. This is an important evening and an opportunity for ACI-NA members to meet members of Congress and federal officials, and to show appreciation for their support of aviation issues. The highlight of the reception is the presentation of the Commissioners’ Congressional Leadership Award to a member of Congress or an administration official for their contributions to the aviation industry and the announcement of that year's recipients of the Commissioners’ Scholarships.
