Security issues

2007-The subcommittee works with the Transportation Security Administration and Congress to help educate the airport community by assisting with the following projects:

  • House Homeland Security Appropriation Subcommittee

  • 9/11 Bill

  • Iraq War Supplemental

  • TSA Employee Screening

The subcommittee is developing a Security Chapter which will incorporate the new government mandates, practical implementation recommendations and concerns of air cargo security in general.

Alternative land use development

2007-This effort examines the use or potential use of on-airport property ancillary and supporting services for air cargo, which includes the development of logistics parks, what makes them successful and what challenges they encounter. The end product for this project is a new chapter for the ACI-NA Air Cargo Guide.

Open Skies agreements

2007-Recent developments with Open Skies Agreements between the U.S. and other countries have allowed for greater traffic flow between domestic and foreign airports. This effort will develop a status report on the Open Skies Agreement program and relevant conclusions as to how current and future changes impact and will continue to affect air cargo flow at gateway and other airports.
