Arrivals Duty Free Working Group

The purpose of this group is to review the existing policy regulations that govern duty free.  This group will make policy recommendations for duty free to be allowed in the arrival areas of US airports. It is also focusing on spreading awareness of ADF and rallying support for its implementation in the United States and Canada. Members of the Canadian Coalition, a group that has been trying to have ADF programs in Canada for the past several years, are working closely with working group members. The working group has prepared background information for the ACI-NA government affairs team to have a better understanding of this new concept. 

Concessions Benchmarking Working Group

The Commercial Management Benchmarking Working Group is in the initial phases of developing at Concessions Benchmarking Survey. This survey will be a brief questionnaire that will address important questions on specialty retail, food & beverage etc.  Staff developed an Opinion Poll survey and sent it out to the full Commercial Management Committee and Airport Directors to gage their interest on what category of questions they would like to see in the survey as well as whether they are comfortable with the results being shared with all ACI Members.  The industry reacted positive in the initiative. Further steps are being taken by the working group which includes drafting potential survey questions as well as definitions of categories.

Concession Contracts Resource Database Working Group

The purpose of this working group is to develop a contracts database that contains concession contract provisions that are current and proven effective. Provisions may include financial models, use clauses, operating standards, s, etc.  The working group is in the process of refining its focus and gathering and reviewing data. The group’s goal is to provide a final product that will contain useful contract language that will be accessible to all ACI members.

TSA/Security Alliance Working Group

TSA/Security Alliance Working Group works with ACI-NA's Public Safety & Security Committee updates about issues that affecting concessions at airports. These issues consist of 100% Employee Screening, which can disrupt concession operations and employee badging, since badging has been in backlog at numerous airports mainly because of delays attributed to paperwork processing.
