2017 Air Cargo Conference

June 4, 2017 - June 6, 2017 / Orlando, FL

Tuesday, June 6

The ACI-NA Air Cargo Committee carefully structured two sessions that addressed how current changes in Airport practices and planning impact key challenges for their current and future operations.

In Session One, representatives from Atlanta, Chicago, and Miami discussed how they addressed challenges related to airport ground access and access to the cargo facilities, infrastructure and facility development, creative marketing for perishables and concepts such as sea-air, innovative business development, and how new product lines such as e-commerce can be better accommodated.

The discussions of Session One were expanded into a very different and unique discussion of forwarding-looking concepts that are expected to evolve over the next 20 years, and if and how they can be incorporated physically and operationally into future airport planning. CVG discussed perhaps the most radical changes in the industry. Their airport’s cargo business will have a completely redeveloped cargo infrastructure, the impact of Amazon, and the growth of DHL and how all three will come together to make Cincinnati one of the industry's most innovative and largest cargo centers.
