Best Practice Details Available for Contest Winners

For the first time, details on each winning entry in the 2013 ACI-NA Excellence in Airport Marketing and Communications Contest also are now available online. Entries are organized both by category and by airport, and each entry’s page features contest questionnaire responses, including samples, photos, sound and video clips.

The Committee’s Steering Group this year asked that ACI-NA disseminate information on the winning entries to encourage the best of practices in airport marketing and communications. We hope that you and your colleagues find this information useful, and that it helps inspire an on-going conversation about developing best practices for your airport’s future creative projects.

Following the awards presentation last Wednesday in Atlanta, we received feedback that there was some concern that entries that airports with larger budgets may have had an advantage over entries with smaller budgets.  After looking at the budgets listed for all entries that placed first through fourth across all 20 categories, there does not appear to be any pattern that indicates this. In fact, you can see that in some categories some small airports with small budgets beat out major hub airports.

In addition, the presentations from the 2013 Marketing and Communications Conference are now posted on the ACI-NA Web site. The page also includes links to video highlights and Centerlines blog coverage, as well as the recorded presentation of Coca-Cola’s Joe Tripodi on successful brand marketing.
