Congress Allows Reprograming of DHS Funds; No CBP Furloughs FY 2013

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed today that Congress has approved the request by the Department of Homeland Security to reprogram some funds for this fiscal year. This means that there will be no furloughs of CBP employees during FY 2013. There are still cuts in overtime, travel and other expenditures.

The challenge of the sequester, however, is slated to continue for nine more years unless modified or ended.
