FAA Issues CertAlert for Snow Removal Activities & AIP Program Guidance for Wildlife Hazard Site Visits

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently released CertAlert 16-01: Operational Safety During Snow Removal Activities.  The CertAlert, in response to a separate accident, as well as numerous missed approaches this past winter season, provides guidance to airport operators on the proper procedures to follow when conducting airport maintenance activities such as snow removal operations.

Separately, the FAA also released AIP Program Guidance Letter 16-01: Wildlife Hazard Site Visits and Associated Follow-up Actions which provides program guidance on AIP funding to complete eligible projects outlined in a Wildlife Hazard Site Visit (WHSV).
