Request for Participation in ACRP Project 09-06

ACRP Project 09-06, Evaluation Impacts of Sustainability Practices on Airport Operations and Maintenance, is looking for professionals working for airports, specifically in the operations and maintenance area, to participate in case study research scheduled for early 2013. The project team is looking at the implications of maintaining sustainability practices in relation to budgets, staffing, performance and other parameters. They are particularly interested in your experiences in implementing sustainability measures relating to: water conservation; energy conservation; waste management; consumables and materials (e.g., paper products, paints, light bulbs, and filters); and alternative fuels.

A key product of this research effort will be a tool for conducting cost-benefit analyses that would assist airport managers in assessing the implications of implementing sustainability measures.  The findings of the study will be of particular interest to IFMA Airport Facility Council members.

Selected airports would provide information on sustainability initiatives through an interview process with ACRP researchers. The interview would take approximately 1 ½ hours, with materials being provided ahead of time.

If you are interested in participating in this important study or would like additional information, please contact, no later than January 4, 2013: Carol Lurie (Principal; Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.) at or 617-607-2708.
