Three Draft FAA Advisory Circulars Currently Open for Industry Comment

The FAA recently issued a series of draft Advisory Circulars (ACs) pertaining to airport operations and maintenance.  ACI-NA is preparing comments regarding the draft ACs and encourages airport members to review the respective drafts and submit your own comment either directly to FAA or through ACI-NA.

Draft AC 150/5345-10H, Specification for Constant Current Regulators (CCR) specifies the requirements for CCR and a monitor for use with airport lighting circuits.  The FAA is accepting comments regarding the draft AC through June 5 and has requested the submittal of industry comments in this comment matrix.

Draft AC 150/5340-26C, Maintenance of Airport Visual Aid Facilities, proposes recommended guidelines for maintenance of airport visual aid facilities. Comments are due June 6 and the FAA has requested the submittal of industry comments in this comment matrix.

Draft AC 150/5220-20A, Airport Snow and Ice Control Equipment, provides additional guidance to assist airports in the procurement of snow and ice control equipment. Comments are due to the FAA no later than July 1 and the FAA has requested the submittal of industry comments in this comment matrix.

Airports wishing to submit their comments directly to FAA can e-mail completed comment matrices to the following individuals in the Office of Airports Safety & Standards:

Please contact Chris Oswald (coswald@aci-na.org) or Paul Eubanks (peubanks@aci-na.org) if you have questions or would like to submit comments for incorporation into ACI-NA's consolidated responses.
