FAA Sets June 1 as AIP Application Deadline
The
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) set June 1 as the deadline for each
airport sponsor to notify the FAA whether or not it will use its fiscal year
2008 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) entitlement funds.
If a sponsor
does not declare their intention regarding the use of 2008 entitlement funds by
June 1, the FAA will be unable to take the necessary actions to designate these
as ‘‘protected’’ carryover funds and these funds would not be carried over if
FAA spending authority from the Airport and Airway Trust Fund is not extended
beyond June 30, 2008.
