Airports Commend NextGen Alliance for Surpassing 1,000 Members
WASHINGTON—Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) President Greg Principato today issued the following statement in response to the National Alliance for the Advancement of NextGen’s (NAANG) announcement that it has surpassed 1,000 members:
“ACI-NA has long advocated that airports have a significant role to play in NextGen planning, development, and implementation and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) is to be commended for their important work to broaden support for NextGen and help make it a reality. The NAANG represents a unique partnership among airports, airlines, the travel industry, and the communities and businesses they serve. NextGen is not just an aviation issue, it is much broader and the PANYNJ’s effort to put this coalition together demonstrates that. The organization’s rapid growth and broad-based membership is a clear indication of how important NextGen improvements are to the nation.”
ACI-NA is a NAANG member and strong supporter of the FAA’s NextGen program, which seeks to modernize the nation’s air traffic control system; improving efficiency, reducing delay, enhancing safety, and reducing aviation’s environmental footprint.
